Visit to the Hallie Ford Art Museum

• Welcome to Willamette University's Hallie Ford Museum of Art. (Hallie Ford is a woman who gave a lot of money to Willamette for the museum.)
• Today you need paper , dictionary, and a pencil. Leave everything else in a "cubby".
• Please be quiet, and do not bring cameras, drinks, food, or gum into the museum.
• Do not take photographs and do not touch anything.
• Do not go out any door except the front door (unless there is a fire!)
• The Museum has two floors. Be sure to look on both floors. (There are some wonderful Native American baskets upstairs.)
• You can come to the museum Mondays through Saturdays, 10-5. It is free with your student ID card.

  Purposes:

  • American Culture: the main focus of this museum is Northwest Art (Washington and Oregon)
  • English: (1) oral description, (2) oral grammar, (3) oral vocabulary

Assignment:

After you look at everything in the museum, choose one work of art in the museum that you really like. Take lots of notes. Use the vocabulary and prepositions you learned/reviewed/practiced.
