How did industrialization change the lives of Americans?

2. Industrialization changed the lives of Americans so that many moved from the rural areas and agricultural work into urban areas and work in factories. Women, and children also worked in the factories and family size decreased. The cities grew and became dirty, polluted and overpopulated.
New inventions came and people began to use electricity, appliances, telephones and cars to make their lives more convenient and comfortable.
The separation between the classes grew and the rich lived in excess, the middle-class moved to the suburbs and the poor protested the poor working conditions. All classes wished to own homes and purchase more material goods.
Business methods changed with the new transportation and communication systems. Advertising became important and began to influence national values and change tradition. Manufactured goods replaced those previously made at home. American society moved from production into consumption.
Architectural styles changed in design, function, technology and height of buildings and homes. The changing thoughts, ideas and values influenced everything that was created.
3. Industrialization changed American families, cities, social classes, technology, business and architecture.

It changed the ways of business and companies could manufacture more products, distribute them farther and use advertising to expand their markets. It changed the technology and people could buy more things to make their lives more comfortable and convenient. It changed the architectural style of buildings and homes.
