You	Yes, I'd like a ..... (singular count noun), please. Yes, may I have 2 (3, 4) .... (plural count noun)-s, please. Yes, I'd like some ....(noncount noun, or an non-specific amount of a count noun), please. Yes, may I have the entree, please.
Server or cook	That'll be a few minutes.
You	That's fine.

Server or cook	Here you are. Will there be anything else?
You	No thanks.
Server or cook	Enjoy your meal.
You	Thank you very much.
Server or cook	You're welcome.

Notes:

"I want" is NOT polite!
- Use: "I'd like .... , please." or "May I have .... , please ?"
"Can I have .... " or "I'll have ...." are informal. If you say these phrases nicely, without stress, and follow them with "please", they are often okay in informal situations.
Many people don't like the phrase "No problem" (meaning "You're welcome"). Don't use it with older people!
