Grammar for Professor Doan's tests and assignments
Hints:
- Don't start sentences with "then", "and", "or", "and", "but", and "because"
- Memorize the article "the" with the term if you see that it's always the same: "The Romantic Period", "The Civil War". (There is only one Romantic Period, so it's always "the".)
- Think about whether you mean "and" or "or", and make the correct choice.
- It's grammatically safer to make the subject the noun that does the action:
- *The song was singing during civil war.
- People sang this song during the Civil War
- Memorize prepositions with their verbs if they are always the same: "listen to"
