1. Choose one of the five elements of culture in the reading "International Culture" on pages 17 - 19.

2. Brainstorm (below) all the things a multinational company doing business in your culture or a foreigner living in your culture should know about the element you chose.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. (a) Cross out the ideas (above) that you will not use. (b) Put numbers next to the ideas you might use: 1 = most important, 2 = next most important, etc.

4. Narrow your topic so you don't have too much information for one paragraph. See the bottom of page 31 and page 32.

5. Choose a title for your paragraph that is a good explanation of what you will write about. Write your title here. Remember to capitalize important words. Your title should be between three and ten words.

6. Write a topic sentence for your paragraph. The topic sentence is usually the first sentence of the paragraph. A topic sentence gives the main idea of the paragraph, and it is the most general statement of the paragraph.
