Academic Listening Comprehension and Speaking Spring
2003 Seibert
Language Partner Assignment
Due Friday, April 25, in class
Purposes of this activity
- To practice using what you have learned in Listening and
Speaking
- To help Willamette students learning Japanese
- To have fun
Procedure
- Meet for at least one hour. Spend half an hour discussing topics
the Willamette students bring, and the other half hour discussing topics you
bring. You should already know when and where you are meeting.
- Prepare as a group before
you meet.
- Choose one or two topics from the "culture topics list"
(on green paper) that I gave you. Add any of your own questions. Be prepared
as a group and as individuals before you meet you partner.
Make sure you have enough questions so you can talk for 1/2 hour in English.
- Ask your partners what they will do during the summer
(or after graduation, if your partner is a senior)
Hints
This is a conversation not an interview
- Look at your partners not at the desk. Make
sure everyone in the group is included in the conversation.
- The focus should be listening and speaking, not on
writing.
