Field trip to Mt. Angel and Woodburn
Please bring this completed worksheet to class on Monday.

Name ______________________________

Please:

  • Be on time. We'll leave at 8:00 a.m. from the lot by the volleyball court. Eat breakfast first.
  • Bring: a small dictionary, a notebook and pencil, and this worksheet.
  • Dress respectfully but casually and neatly. Please wear shoes. Take off your hat anywhere at the Abbey and inside all other buildings.
  • No smoking.
  • Stay awake. This is a class, not your summer vacation (yet). Look around you and think. This trip is for you and required a lot of planning. Look interested even if you're not. It's polite.
  • Be quiet and observe what you see. Sensitive first-time visitors to other cultures are usually careful observers until they learn "the rules". Please ask questions; everyone knows this is a class of students learning about cultures, it's okay to ask questions.
  • Don't touch anything!
  • Say "Good afternoon" and "Thank you" over and over and over and over and over ("Buenos Dias" and "Gracias" in a Spanish-speaking environment)
