Final exam discussion questions

How to prepare:

  • Review the text: introduction and Lessons 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 (SAY the lessons)
  • Review your notes from class; SAY what you've learned
  • Prepare some vocabulary and phrases to discuss these questions (look up syllables and stress; say the words and phrases). Don't memorize your answers.
  • Practice with your group


1. What three places would you most like to visit in the United States and why?

2. What are the greatest cultural adjustments you have had to make?

3. What WU activities have you participated in and what have you learned from these?

4. Talk about dorm life and having a roommate: What has been difficult, what has been enjoyable, what have you learned, etc.

5. Will your life be different in Japan as a result of having lived in another country for a year? Will you have trouble adjusting to life in Japan again? What do you think you will you miss most about TIUA, Willamette, Oregon or the U. S.?
