Environment Unit
Listening/Speaking  Professor Stipe
Reading/Writing      Professor Yasen

The topic of our NorthStar textbooks, Unit 5 is the Environment.  We will read about ecocities and listen to recordings about the Native American view of the environment.

We will then watch and read,
Into the West and discuss how the Native American and white perspectives on the environment were very different in the 1800s.

Sustainability is an important topic  today about the environment and there is much discussion in the world  on climate change, recycling and conservation.  We will talk about sustainability for the next two weeks and participate in the Willamette University Sustainability Day on April 20.  You will give group poster presentations showing the Japanese perspective on sustainability issues.  We hope you enjoy speaking about these issues.
