Creating Your Own Language - Group
Presentation
|
Working in groups, you should think creatively
and develop your own, simple language system. Then, you will present
this language system to the class in a group presentation on Tuesday,
June 5. This project should include the following:
- A simple phonetic system - vowels and
consonants, with a description of their voicing, place and manner
or articulation.
- At least one phonological rule that
indicates how one of your phonemes changes in a particular
environment.
- A description of what kind of syllables are
allowed in your language.
- A description of the lexical, functional,
derivational and inflectional morphemes in your language system.
If they are bound morphemes (derivational and inflectional),
please indicate whether they are prefixes or suffixes.
- You should use visual aids to explain your
language system and also provide some kind of handout to the other
students.
- You need to provide some kind of short
learning activity for the class to do that helps them learn
something about your language.
